Michelle Istria, APA sport and exercise Physiotherapist, Clem Jones Centre Physio and Rehab, Brisbane

Michelle balances her clinical hours with her Sports Physiotherapy roles across the following sporting teams:

  • 2016 - current. Senior Physiotherapist, Brisbane Bullets (NBL)

  • 2019 - current. Program Physiotherapist. GQ/HPC Women's Artistic Gymnastics

  • 2018 -  Youth Olympics. Argentina. Australian Team Physiotherapist, Australian Medical Headquarters

  • 2015 - current. Gymnastics QLD. Team Physiotherapist. National Championships

  • 2017- current. Southern Districts Spartans (QBL). Team Physiotherapist

Since moving with her family to Australia in 2013, Michelle has continued her work in sports physiotherapy and commenced work in private practice. Her unique experience and enthusiasm for her profession has been recognised by all esp. in the elite sport, gymnastics and dance communities. 

Michelle has completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and enjoys the challenge of combining her experience with an evidence based approach to ensure optimal client outcomes.

Her dynamic presenting style has meant Michelle is regularly asked to present on post graduate sports physiotherapy courses and to sporting organisations.

Michelle has previously worked for many years in professional sport including:

  • Wigan Warriors Rugby League (3 years). Team Physiotherapist

  • Sale Rugby Union (4 years). Team Physiotherapist  

  • Cirque de Soleil (8 years). Head Physiotherapist for travelling show (Europe, Asia, North America)
